Tottenham Hotspur ruled out any speculations about selling their captain Harry Kane to Manchester United. The English media were reporting this Sunday that United pushed hard for getting the leader of the national team and that they \allegedly offered the record-breaking $250 million. This sum would be higher than Paris Saint-Germain paid Barcelona for Neymar.
The deal would see Kane finishing the end of the season with the Spurs, before transferring to Old Trafford. However, the response from London was more than clear, and it suggested that Kane can’t go to United or any other club in the Premier League.
Some of the media claimed that Tottenham’s chairman Daniel Levy might give a green light for this transfer, due to the alleged financial difficulties the club experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Spurs recently worth a billion-dollar worth stadium and had numerous expenses, with the current situation slashing all of their incomes.
With this action, Tottenham clearly showed that they wouldn’t strengthen one of their domestic rivals. However, as another reason for denying the transfer, many see Spurs’ lack of offensive players and poor offer on the market this summer.
