James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale Might End Up in Everton

Carlo Ancelotti has great plans for Everton, and in order to achieve them, he needs big names on his roster. According to the well-respected media, his top priorities at the moment are James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale.

The Spanish journal Marca, traditionally linked to Real Madrid, claims from its sources that the two superstars might be heading for Goodison Park already this summer. Everton’s ambitions increased after building a new stadium, and the Toffees want to make notable results in the next few seasons.

Both Rodriguez and Bale are not in a very good position in Real Madrid. The Colombian played only 13 games this season, and the reasons for that were mostly injuries and but also tactical solutions of Zidane, who apparently isn’t appreciating forward’s skillset as some other coaches would.

Real is looking for a way to get rid of the 28-year old for a long time, and they even loaned him to Bayern Munich from 2017 until 2019. The club was hoping to see the Bavarians buying out the player, but eventually, that didn’t happen, and he was sent back to Santiago Bernabeu.

Reportedly, Everton was eyeing Rodriguez for a long time, and the club is pretty keen on acquiring the creative playmaker. He is the primary target in this story, and potentially the new cornerstone of the team if Toffees manage to land him.

On the other side, Bale isn’t willing to leave Madrid, and the Welshman is in a sort of silent war with the entire organization. With his fat paycheck and two more years on the contract, one of the most flamboyant wingers in the world is more than satisfied at Santiago Bernabeu. He even started playing more in recent times, but still, the club wants to get rid of him, particularly due to financial reasons.

The atmosphere around him is not good, but Bale isn’t concerned about that. The Welshman is determined to exploit his contract all the way, precisely because of Real’s “dishonest” attempts to dispatch him.

After having a disappointing start of this campaign, Everton’s management decided to fire manager Marco Silva and surprisingly appoint Carlo Ancelotti as his replacement. The club invested a lot of money in the squad, and the results were not matching that sum, which is why the Sila had to go.

Now, Ancelotti indicated a lot of changes in the future, and immediately following his arrival, the club not only started performing better, but they became quite competitive even for the top English sides. Everton might reach the spot which secures the Europa League, but that if the Premiership continues.

With the current roster, and a few more signings, we just might see the Toffees as one of the more serious challengers for the leading EPL clubs. Having at least Rodriguez, if not Bale too, should make them a potential dark horse in the race for the title, and a respectable force in European competitions.

Of course, the biggest strength of the team from Goodison would be Ancelotti, who is arguably one of the greatest soccer managers in European history.
