Antonio Brown Accused of Raping

Again, Antonio Brown reached all the media headlines. The newest acquisition of the New England Patriots got accused of rape. The controversial wide receiver allegedly raped Britney Taylor, which was his personal trainer.

Taylor, filed a civil lawsuit, in which she claims that the player raped her three times, between 2017 and 2018. The first incident took place on June 2017, when Brown appeared naked and started kissing Taylor, without her consent.

Just one month after, Taylor claims that the player made another assault without her consent, saying that Brown masturbated and ejaculated on her back, against her will.

The final and the most severe offense was in May 2018.  Back then, the accuser came into Brown’s house late night after going out. She wanted to use the bathroom and take something to eat, but the wide receiver used force to rape her.

All these accusations were denied by the player and his legal team, who also stated that all the sexual intercourses which happened at the time were with mutual consent.  Darren Heitner, AB’s lawyer issued a statement in which the player claims that Taylor wants to have a financial benefit from the player, and she does this on purpose.

“Mr. Brown’s accuser has continually posted photographs of Mr. Brown on her social networks in an effort to financially benefit from his celebrity,” he wrote in the statement.

The player also claims that all this happened because he wasn’t willing to give $1.6 million to Taylor after she asked him to invest in her business plans.

The two met at Central Michigan during college days, in a Bible study group. Following that, they didn’t have any connections for a few years, until 2017, when Brown hired Taylor as his personal trainer.

She now wants $75,000 because of all the suffering and suicidal thoughts.

Meanwhile, the New England Patriots issued their own statement saying that they had no information about this situation, and that as an organization, they do not support this kind of behavior. Multiple sources are saying that the franchise management was in shock after the news emerged to the surface.

“Under no circumstance does this organization condone sexual violence or assault. The league has informed us they will be investigating. We will have no further comment while that investigation takes place.”

What also presents a problem for the Patriots is the fact that they traded Demaryius Thomas to the New York Jets. After signing Brown, Belichick and the rest of the management decided to ship Thomas for the future pick, thus decrease the crowd on the roster. But now, Roger Goodell might choose to place AB on the commissioner’s exempt list, meaning that he might be suspended until the investigations last.

It is the worst possible scenario for New England, who decided to risk a lot with Brown. It is still unsure what will happen with the player, and what will be the reaction of the Patriots, as some say that there is even a possibility of them releasing Brown.
