Favre Sees Tension between Rodgers and the Packers

Brett Favre made some interesting comments on the current situation in his Green Bay Packers. According to the legendary player and the three-time MVP, the relationship between the team and their starting quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, surely deteriorated following the recent action Packs made at the NFL Draft.

Favre stated that he talked with Rodgers after the draft, adding that the former colleague didn’t hide his surprise with the recent development.

“I’m not going to talk about all that we talked about, but he was … let’s just say surprised that they went in that direction,” Favre said.

He also told that Rodgers might not end his career in Green Bay, as many believed previously. According to legendary No.4, this last move of the management apparently ruined the relationship between these two parties. The entire environment is different now, and the player isn’t feeling safe anymore.

“I think he’ll play somewhere else,” Favre said, and answered on the question whether he thinks AR will finish his stellar career in Wisconsin. “My gut tells me no. I don’t know this for certain, but I guarantee you, it’s got the wheels turning in Aaron’s mind.”

Packers picked Jordan Love, the 21-year old quarterback from Utah State, as the 26th selection in this year’s draft. The organization traded up to reach this youngster who was the third-best player in his position according to the majority of scouts.

Love was thrilled with the opportunity to works and learn besides Rodgers, but on the other side, many feared what would be the reaction of the two-time MVP. Packs’ general manager Brian Gutekunst revealed to the public that neither he or any of his associates had consultations with Rodgers on this matter, confidently saying that this action is in the best interest of the team.

Apparently, Favre has a different opinion. Of all the people, he knows the best what is like to see this happening, as he went through the same thing when Rodgers came to the league.

Packers Ahead of Rocky Future

The situation is very complicated for both sides now, as Rodgers has four more years on contract following a $134 million extension, back in 2018. So far, everything was great, and it even seemed that the Packs have a team that could be competitive in the race for the Super Bowl. Yes, Rodgers’ numbers were down when comparing them to the previous seasons, but the team played better.

Many justified the decline of his numbers due to the fact that he played under the new head coach, Matt LaFleur, and that the two needed time to develop chemistry.

What happens after all this is still a mystery, and nobody knows what the effects would be on the locker room. Some claim that it might wake up Rogers and make him work harder, others think that the No.12 will be looking to get away if things get rough along the road, and Packs’ title hunt fails.
