Liverpool thrashed Crystal Palace last night and is not two points away from securing the title.
This would be a first title for the Reds after 30 years.
In other matches, Wolves and Manchester Untied posted wins and continued their Champions League chase.
Liverpool’s Superb Machine
Jurgen Klopp’s boys are on the verge of getting that long-awaited trophy. Liverpool is two points away from winning the Premiership title, after 30 years of waiting, filled with frustration, failures, and sorrow.
Last night the Reds defeated Crystal Palace with 4-0, indicating that they can’t wait for the game against Manchester City, in which they can secure the trophy. They need to stay unbeaten against the biggest rival in the recent few years, and if they do so, the title is coming to Anfield.
Mohamed Salah was hyped following the match, adding that he and his teammates know what is at stake.
“We’ve waited a long time for this, and we’ve worked hard for this over the last few years as a team,” Salah said. “As a club, this is what we’ve dreamed of, and we’re in a good position, so hopefully we’ll be able to get it across the line very soon.”
The Egyptian was superb on the field, scoring a goal, and adding an assist. Trent Alexander-Arnold opened the show with a fantastic free-kick, in the 23rd minute, with Salah scoring his goal in the 44th minute. Fabinho raised to 3-0 ten minutes following the pause, and Mane put an end in the 69th minute.
Martial’s Hat-Trick Leads the Red Devils to an Important Win
Manchester United defeated Sheffield United, their direct rival for the Champions League spot with 3-0. Anthony Martial was the man of the match, with the French packing all three goals in the Blades’ net.
He was flying all over the pitch, showing his full potential, which, unfortunately, we haven’t had the opportunity to see constantly.
Since Robin Van Persie, Martial became the first United player to net three goals in one Premiership match.
“I am very happy for Anthony,” said Solskjaer. “We have worked with him getting in the box. He’s getting into those positions more and more. He is in good form.”
Blades were within two points from United before this match, but now, the Red Devil ran away from the Blades.
However, Wolves are still breathing down United’s neck, and after beating Bournemouth with 1-0 last night, they have the same number of points. Nuno Espirito Santo’s boys had a lot of troubles against the Cherries but eventually managed to take all three points.
Tottenham is behind them, with four points fewer, as they defeated West Ham this Tuesday, 2-0.
In other games, Newcastle and Aston Villa played 1-1 in a match, which was very important to the guests. This one point won on the road won’t mean anything if they don’t collect points at home. This won’t be an easy task having in mind that the next opponent at Villa Park is Wolverhampton.
Also, Norwich lost at Carrow Road to Everton, 0-1.
