- The English powerhouse suffered a hard defeat to a heavy underdog, Istanbul BB, 2-1.
- Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under massive criticism back in England, and the Red Devils’ fans want his resignation.
- Chelsea, Barcelona and Juventus posted wins, the same as RB Leipzig over PSG.
Solskjaer’s Seat Red-Hot
If Manchester United doesn’t defeat Everton, we’ll probably see Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s departure from Old Trafford. His status is shaky at the moment, and what is the reason for that is a defeat against Istanbul on the road, 2-1.
The Turkish champions used all the mistakes made by Manchester’s players, reaching a 2-0 lead, and even though Anthony Martial decreased the gap in the late phase of the first sequence, the guests couldn’t get at least one point.
“You know the opinions are out there all the time, you got to stay strong,” Solskjaer told the media after the match once asked about his job status. “I’m employed by the club to do the job, and I do that in the best of my ability.”
The recent results suggest that United finds itself in a crisis, following a very good start of the year. Only one victory in five matches is terrible for the Red Devils, who suffered three losses in significant games throughout that period.

United needs to start winning games in series to overcome the current problems, but right now, that is almost impossible. The players look demotivated, it seems that one of the leaders, Paul Pogba, isn’t interested in playing, and that the defense struggles constantly.
They are still topping the UCL’s Group H, where RB Leipzig also has six points in three events. The German side defeated shorthanded Paris Saint-Germain with 2-1.
French side got an early lead, but the hosts still managed to come back and turn the result upside down. This is a small payback for the loss in the UCL semifinals less than two months ago, but it won’t be of great importance if the Bulls miss the knockout stage.
Chelsea Strong Against Rennes
The Blues showed their real power against another French side in the most prominent soccer competition in Europe. They would beat Rennes without too much trouble, 3-0, with Timo Werner netting twice and Tammy Abraham adding one more goal.
Frank Lampard, unlike Solskjaer, made his situation easier with this victory, removing some pressure off his back. The team from London has seven points and shares first place in Group E with Sevilla, who rallied back against Krasnodar to win 3-2, despite being short one player on the field.
Juventus and Barcelona recorded victories in Group G. Barca was better at home than Dynamo Kyiv, 2-1, while Juve defeated the Hungarian champions, Ferencvaros on the road, 1-4.
Barca has all three wins since the start of the competition, Juventus is next with two triumphs, while Dynamo and Ferencvaros sit at the bottom with one point.
In Group F, Dortmund trashed Club Brugge on the road, 0-3, with Thorgan Hazard scoring two goals, and Erling Haaland one. Zenit and Lazio played 1-1 in Russia.
Dortmund has 6 points, Lazio five, Brugge 4, and Zenit one.
