- According to Inter’s sporting director, one of the best forwards in the world, Lautaro Martinez, won’t leave the club without €111 million.
- Barcelona is aggressive in pursuing Lautaro, as they find the Argentinian to be the perfect fit for Messi’s partner.
- There won’t be any swaps or trades, because Inter wants just cash.
Piero Ausilio Speaks About Lautaro’s Status
Inter Milan’s sporting director Piero Ausilio spoke openly on the current situation with arguably the most talented forward in the world, Lautaro Martinez.
The young Argentinian who is the biggest star in the three-time European champions is on the radar of several top continental clubs, among them Barcelona. The Spanish powerhouse is eager to land the 22-year old and solve all the problems they have in attack, and also, to prepare him as Messi’s successor.
Ausilio stated that the club from Italy doesn’t have the intention of selling Martinez, but that he can leave. If there is a club willing to pay €111 million, which is his release clause, Inter can’t stop the flamboyant forward to go.
“As far as Martinez is concerned, there is only one way that can take him away from Inter, and that is by paying a clause,” Ausili said.
He didn’t hide the fact that Barca wants to take their best player and openly spoke about that situation too.
“Many clubs have contacted us about Lautaro. Among these, the most determined one, with which we have a friendly and cordial relationship, is Barcelona. I don’t hide this.”
No Trades, Swaps or Anything Similar, Just Cash
Inter was pretty clear regarding their way of seeing business with any club that aims to buy Lautaro. There won’t be any swaps or trades as Barca proposed at first because Nerazzurri, don’t want to add any more names to its roster.
Right now, Blaugrana doesn’t have what to offer, and the initial proposal of sending some cash along with Nelson Semedo and Samuel Umtiti has been rejected.
The transfer market this summer is going to be different than during previous years, due to COVID-19 pandemics. The economic crisis is striking hard all over the world, and it is no different in professional sports.
It seems that the biggest clubs in Europe are definitely without money for some major investments, and that is why they have to propose deals which involve trades.
The irony in the whole situation is that the biggest clubs are, in fact, in the biggest problems. Many would believe that they have enough money to survive this chaos, but the reality is different.
All of them have enormous financial obligations, especially to the players, while on the other side, the income is mostly generated through sponsorship deals and games. Since there isn’t any at the moment, both sources are terminated, which is why we saw numerous big-time teams cutting down the wages of their players through making some sorts of mutual arrangements.
Anyhow, Barca has time until July 7 to come up with cash for Lautaro; after that the clause expires and they have to wait for another year.
