LA Rams’ Small Revenge for SB LIII
Tonight’s win over the Patriots meant a little more for the Rams than it would be in the normal circumstances. With this loss, reaching the playoffs is a mission impossible for the guests from Foxborough. Such an outcome made the home-team players feeling much better. Even though it isn’t the equivalent to losing in the SB LIII, it still presented a nice boost to the Rams.
“We definitely wanted that payback, definitely wanted to get our revenge from the Super Bowl,” Michael Brockers said to the reporters.
The 29-year old defensive lineman was fired-up last night, hurting the Pats’ O-line non-stop, eventually finishing the game with two sacks. Aaron Donald was there to help, having 1.5 sacks, while Morgan Fox added one, the same as Kenny Young.
Young added one pick-six this Thursday, intercepting Newton and going 79 yards to the endzone.
Meanwhile, Cam Akers made sure that the Pats’ defense remembers him for a long time. The rookie rusher had 21 reps for 171 yards, and despite the fact that he snapped his three-game scoring streak, Akers was undoubtedly the best player in LA’s offense.
Jared Goff threw for 137 yards, 16-for-25 for a TD, and an interception. Yet, the Rams’ QB did deliver one rushing TD. Cooper Kupp caught that one TD pass coming from Goff, having 33 receiving yards.

Newton Benched, Pats Looking Pale
For the second time this year, Bill Belichick decided to bench Cam Newton. Shortly after the start of the final period, the Pats’ head coach decided to send Jarrett Stidham on the field, with the game already being solved at that point.
Newton had 119 yards, was 9-for-16, posting one interception and a fumble. The former MVP was always under pressure, and up until the moment Bellichick decided to replace him, he was sacked on four occasions. On seven runs, Super Cam added just 16 yards.
“We knew exactly what they were going to do, We have to be better, and it starts with me personally. I have to make more plays.,” Newton was very harsh on himself following the game.
Several days earlier, the Pats scored 45 points against the Chargers at this same stadium. It is safe to say that inconsistency, especially Newton’s, has been a massive problem in their offensive game.
New England (6-7) needs to catch up with the Indianapolis Colts, who are seventh in the AFC, having 8 wins and four losses. Next week they head for Miami to meet the Dolphins, and after that, await the Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets at home.
The Rams (9-4) host the Jets and then visit the Seahawks to have a clash that would probably determine the divisional champion. After that contest, Sean McVay’s guys host the Arizona Cardinals.
