Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his AC Milan Make a Spectacular Comeback to Beat Juventus, 4-2

  • AC Milan defeated Juventus 4-2 in Serie A derby, after being behind two goals.
  • Zlatan Ibrahimovic once again scored.
  • Juventus is still the No.1 in the standings, while AC Milan didn’t lose since the restart of the football activities.

Milan’s Blitz Takes Down Juve

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his AC Milan have created a spectacular comeback in last night’s derby against Juventus. The hosts were two goals behind the reigning champions, but they managed to create an unreal comeback, and take the lead in just five minutes.

It was a masterful performance of Stefano Pioli‘s guys’ who demonstrated a fantastic desire and will, fully deserving to win.

“All the praise goes to my players, as they are showing an incredible mentality and spirit. Even during difficult times, they are eager to stick together and keep believing, so they were rewarded with this great victory,” AC Milan’s coach Stefano Pioli stated after the game.

The first half of this contest was very boring and without anything particularly interesting and worth mentioning. But the second was blockbusting, with six goals.

Juventus scored just two minutes after the start of the sequence, with Adrien Rabiot having a show of his own. The former PSG midfielder rand for more than half the distance of the field, before sending the ball from the edge of the box into Milan’s net.

Only five minutes later, Cristiano Ronaldo netted after a terrible mistake of the hosts defending duo Kjaer-Romagnoli. At that moment, it seemed that the Old Lady is about to score another easy win and take three points back home to Turin.

But that didn’t happen. Ibrahimovic decreased the lead in the 62nd minute from the penalty, which was awarded to Rossoneri after a handball in the box. Four minutes later, the former LA Galaxy player assisted Franck Kessie, who leveled the result, and in the very next attack, the home team took the lead through Rafael Leao.

From that moment on, the game was a bit calmer, but Milan managed to score another goal, and the guy who did that was Anter Rebic in the 80th minute.

With this win, Pioli’s boys are now fifth and in the position which leads to the Europa League. On the other side, Juve is still first, and they have seven points ahead of Lazio, who missed the opportunity for nearing down, as they suffered a second straight loss, this time in Lecce, 2-1.

Ibrahimovic and His Point of View

Since his arrival, Rossoneri became one of the best teams in the league. Ibrahimovic brought confidence and charisma, which immediately made a positive impact on the locker room and the performances on the pitch.

The Swed would have a pretty interesting statement following the match.

“I am President, player and coach! The only negative is that I only get paid for being a player! If I had been here from the first day of the season, then we would’ve won the Scudetto.”

Having in mind the overall improvement of Milan’s performances, that could have been possible as well.
