Tyson Fury Trashes Deontay Wilder, Wins via TKO in Round 7

Tyson Fury is the new WBC heavyweight champion, after defeating Deontay Wilder last night in Las Vegas.

The British boxer TKOd the American in the seventh round, after Wilder’s corner, decided to throw in the towel and stop Fury’s dominant display. He sent the American to the floor on a couple of occasions, displaying superb boxing tactics and knowledge.

“I told everybody with a pair of ears that the Gypsy King would return to the throne. My last fight everybody wrote me off. I was underweight and over-trained. I’m a destroyer. Not bad for someone with pillow fists,” Fury said, calling out all those who once doubted his skills.

The start of the fight didn’t indicate that it might end like this, with both fighters being aggressive during the opening round. However, already in the second, we had the change of the situation, with Fury taking over the command in the ring.

The Brit slowly started to break Wilder’s stance with strong left jabs, who were keeping the Bronze Bomber at a distance, and preventing him from unleashing his powerful punch.

Everything radically changed in the third round, when we saw Wilder on the ground for the first time. The American got hit with a right hook and found himself lying on the canvas. He did stand up very quickly but was obviously shaken.

Fury continued to harass the champion throughout the fourth and the fifth round, once again sending him to the floor in the latter. Wilder’s eardrum apparently burst, and he had troubles in avoiding the punches as well as moving.

His fall came in the seventh, once Fury pressured him in the corner and started pounding with everything he’s got. There was no point in allowing the contest to continue, and although the judge in the ring didn’t stop the fight, Wilder’s crew did.

Now the ex-champ stated following the fight that he wanted to go down like a true man and feels regret for this stoppage.

“The best man won on the night. My coach threw in the towel but I’m ready to go out on my shield,” explained Wilder. “I just wish my corner would have let me go out on my shield, I’m a warrior. But [Fury] did what he did and there’s no excuses.”

After everything ended, the Brit stated that he expects a call for the third fight. It seems that Fury would gladly accept that challenge, due to his high opinion about Deontay.

But first, he has to sort things out with another guy from the UK – Anthony Joshua. AJ holds three belts in different versions, and after avoiding Wilder for some time, he now has to accept the challenge of the new WBC champ. Some sources are suggesting that the fight may take place near the end of this year, but that is not confirmed at all.

As for Wilder, he now has to dig deep in order to get the chance for regaining his throne.
