Tom Brady in Tampa Bay, Philip Rivers Moves to Indianapolis

Tom Brady and Philip Rivers are about to change their uniforms. According to the latest news from the NFL, Brady is about to land in Tampa Bay, while Rivers intends to join the Indianapolis Colts.

Brady Becoming a Buccaneer

After announcing that he won’t be staying with the New England Patriots, many believed that Tom Brady might jump to Los Angeles or Chicago. However, the three-time NFL MVP went in a completely different direction. According to the sources from within the NFL, the 199th pick from the NFL 2000 draft will sign a deal with the Bucs worth $30 million per year. There are no indications about the length or anything else at the moment.

“What we do know is that tom Brady is expecting to be in Tampa with the Buccaneers, and it looks like that decision will come down at some point this week, whenever it may be,” Adam Schefter announced yesterday.

Tampa Bay is the host of the next Super Bowl, and this indeed could be the main reason why Brady decided to pick this franchise. The Bucs will, for sure, make a run at the free agency after this deal, and there would be plenty of excellent players who are going to be more than willing to join arguably the best player ever in his last quest towards the title.

Besides this, Tampa has a superb receiving core on the team. Chris Goodwin and Mike Evans are no doubt ahead of one fantastic period with Brady, and don’t forget that he recently told that he always dreamed of playing with Antonio Brown. And AB is now a free agent, who would like to be back in the league.

So we have a perfect environment for a blockbusting story here.

Rivers in Indianapolis

Many are excited to see a move like this because it seems that the two parties have found the perfect fit for one another. Rivers and Colts could be, according to many analysts, a surprise of the season.

The veteran QB agreed on a one-year $25 million deal and will reunite with Frank Reich, who was Chargers’ offensive coordinator before. Now, the reason many are excited about this partnership is the fact that Colts have arguably the best offensive line in the league or the one with the biggest potential.

The absence of at least an average one in LA was the reason why the 38-year old couldn’t lead the team to better results. The Colts, meanwhile, were very good in 2018 and indicated that once again, they might be one of the powerhouses in the AFC.

However, Andrew Luck’s injury and sudden retirement, as well as Jacoby Brissett’s issues with injuries and inconsistency they couldn’t repeat the success from the previous campaign and reach the playoffs. Eventually, Indianapolis lost seven of the final nine events ruining a solid start of the season.

With an elite passer like Rivers and a little bit of luck, the Colts could easily win the AFC South, even though they have the Tennessee Titans and the Houston Texans besides themselves.
