Seahawks Get Even With Cards

After suffering a 37-34 OT loss some three weeks ago, Seahawks had a massive motive coming into this match. Not only that, but Arizona and Seattle had the same record, 6-3, meaning that this event carried a lot of weight for both sides.

It is no wonder why Seahawks celebrated their victory intensively, with Pete Carroll almost sacking Carlos Dunlap at the end of the game. The 31-year old defensive end previously sacked Kyle Murray on Arizona’s fourth down with 38 seconds to go, sealing a win for the hosts.

“He almost tackled me on the sideline. That was crazy to see a head coach that involved,” he said following the match.

Kyler Murray was caught three times and suffered seven hits this Thursday night, unlike in the last meeting once Seattle’s defenders couldn’t touch him.

Murray ended the night with 269 yards, and two touchdown passes, but rushing for just 15 yards on five carries. His Cardinals were always behind the hosts, and they couldn’t find a way to jump over the rivals, even though they had a few chances.

The best one was in the fourth period, when Seattle had to punt, being just two points up, 23-21. However, instead of using their possession, the Cardinals made a massive mistake, which benefited the hosts. JR Sweezy made a holding penalty inside the endzone, handing a safety and two points to the Seahawks. In the very next attack, Seattle scored a field goal, pulling away to 28-21.

Russell Wilson had 197 passing yards and two touchdowns, while also contributing 42 yards on the ground. His and Carlos Hyde’s running made problems for the visitors, helping Seattle to post 165 yards in this area, almost three times as many as Arizona’s 57.

Hyde rushed for one TD, while DK Metcalf and Tyler Locket each caught one TD pass.

Meanwhile, the scorers among Cardinals were Kenyan Drake, chase Edmonds, and Dan Arnold, with the latter two catching TD tosses from Murray.

Easy Schedule for the Seahawks

Pete Carroll’s side has a nice chance of improving the record in the next four weeks. They are heading for Philadelphia to meet the Eagles on Monday night, before hosting two teams from New York, the Giants, and the Jets. After that, the Seahawks visit the Washington Football team. All these rivals have a negative record and are close to the bottom of their respective conferences.

As for the Cardinals, they will have tougher challenges in the upcoming two weeks. Kliff Kingsbury’s team visits the Patriots on November 29, and then awaits the LA Rams. Following that matchup, Arizona again travels back to East, to New York, where they play against the Giants.

The situation in the NFC West is pretty tight, with the 7-3 Seahawks leading the way, ahead of the Rams, 6-3, Cardinals, 6-4 and the 49ers, 4-6.
