New England Eliminated, Tennessee Titans Advance to the Divisional Round

The Tennessee Titans delivered one of the greatest upsets in the recent NFL seasons. Mike Vrabel’s guys defeated, eliminated, and dethroned the current Super Bowl champions, New England Patriots in Foxborough.

Titans’ snatched a 20-13 victory, which stunned the fans at the Gillette Stadium. The sole responsibility for that goes to Derrick Henry, who had 204 yards from the scrimmage and a touchdown. Tennessee’s running back was simply astonishing, and the champ’s defense couldn’t do anything about that. He celebrated his 26th birthday in the best possible way.

“It’s a great win against a great team in a hostile environment,” Henry said. “Credit to my team. I’m just happy we were able to advance.”

Throughout the game, arguably the best RB in the NFL was constantly pulling his team and setting the tone in the offense. On various occasions, his individual efforts provided a good position for the Titans from which they profited. But besides that, Henry was also the best defense Vrabel’s crew had against the Patriots this Saturday.

With his constant running, he controlled the clock, and Tom Brady didn’t have the football in his hands that much, and the Pats couldn’t use his attacking skills.

New England had a 13-7 lead at one point, but Henry changed that 35 seconds before the halftime, rushing for one yard and lifting the Titans to a 14-13 advantage.

That result wouldn’t change up until nine seconds before the end when Ryan Logan, the former Patriots player, intercepted Brady’s pass and returned it to the end zone to set the final score. In those moments, the hosts were looking for quick solutions in order to reach the field-goal range, but instead, they’ve made a mistake.

Brady concluded the game with 20 completions in 37 attempts, for 209 yards, and without any TDs. Following the game, one of the all-time greatest was asked about his retirement, but he didn’t give a specific answer to all those questions.

Who knows what the future holds? So I’ll leave it at that,” he said, adding, “I don’t know what’s going to happen. I’m not going to predict it. No one needs to make choices at this point.”

It will be very interesting to see how things develop with Brady’s future. He is becoming a free agent at the end of the year, and there still aren’t any intentions that the Patriots might offer him another deal.

Julian Edelman delivered the only touchdown for the hosts in this game, which will be forgotten by their fans as soon as possible.

Ryan Tannehill had just 72 passing yards in this event, and eight completions, along with one TD and interception apiece, and two fumbles. But he did manage to hold on against the heavy pressure of the home team at some parts of the game.

Titans’ QB will need to be much better against the Ravens next week; otherwise, his team will be in serious trouble. Lamar Jackson, who will most likely win the MVP award, has a historic season, and along with him, the entire Ravens’ squad is posting superb performances.
