Kansas City Chiefs win the Super Bowl LIV, Defeat the San Francisco 49ers, 31-20

Patrick Mahomes and Damien Williams led the Kansas City Chiefs to the Super Bowl title. These two guys were fantastic in Chiefs’ comeback against the San Francisco 49ers, 31-20.

“This is what it’s all about,” Andy Reid said. “What a great team, great coaches. Appreciate every bit of it.”

For the first time since this franchise won the AFL in 1969, the Chiefs have reached one title. And they way they’ve done it was spectacular.

Midway through the fourth quarter, they were down 20-10, with San Francisco having the possession of the football after Patrick Mahomes threw an interception.

The momentum, the result, and the time were on 49ers’ side. However, once again, we saw all the beauty of the NFL. Mahomes and the guys would deliver three touchdowns to completely change the entire situation on the field of the Hard Rocks stadium in Miami and to stun everybody.

Mahomes threw two TD passes, and Williams scored twice to push KC towards the success. The young QB kept his composure, showing why he earned the MVP award last season. He would hit Tyreek Hill for 44 yards, and Sammy Watkins for 38, before finding Travis Kelce and Williams for respective touchdowns.

Eventually, once they got a 24-20 lead and prevented Jimmy Garoppolo from making any progress during his attacks, Williams had a 38-yard TD to solve this contest.

“We never lost faith,” Mahomes said. “That’s the biggest thing. Everybody on this team, no one had their head down. We believed in each other. That’s what we preached all year long.”

He received the Super Bowl MVP honors after throwing 286 yards, two touchdowns, two interceptions, posting two fumbles, but also rushing for one TD. What was the main reason for him getting the award was the fact that he played almost impeccable over the final seven minutes.

Williams became the first player who rushed 100+ yards in the finals and had a receiving and rushing touchdown.

On the other side, Jimmy Garoppolo and Kyle Shanahan failed to keep a massive lead they had in this clash. For Shanahan, this is the second big collapse in the Super Bowl games, as he also experienced one four years ago.

Back then, he was calling plays for the Atlanta Falcons as their offensive coordinator against the New England Patriots at the SB LI. You all remember how that ended. Still, the 49ers head coach won’t surrender that easy in his battle to win the Super Bowl ring.

“We’re going to rest a little bit, get over this, but we’ll be very fired up for next year,” he said. “We’ll lick our wounds, we’ll get over this”

As for Garoppolo, he had 219 yards, one TD and two interceptions. He again played below the expectations. The 49ers’ leader choked in the essential moments of the contest, not being able to hit one of his many targets.

The NFL contests are now over, and what lies ahead of us is an interesting offseason, during which we might witness big changes around the league.

We’ll bee right here supplying you with all the needed information.
