Green Bay Packers’ defense too strong for the Denver Broncos

Who would have thought that the Green Bay Packers would record three wins at the start of the season mostly because of the defense? The latest one against  the Denver Broncos 27-16. With Aaron Rodgers on board, and Davante Adams and Jimmy Graham, plush Matt LaFleur in charge, the offense should be the primary weapon of this franchise.

Yet again, it is severely different. The Packs had 6 sacks on Joe Flacco, three of them by the newcomer this summer, Preston Smith. The former Super Bowl MVP experienced one solid beating in Wisconsin, and he will be pretty mad at the protection, which wasn’t present as it needed to be.

The Broncos QB lost 52 yards on those six sacks and had just one interception during the entire match. In 20 completed of his 29 throws, Flacco recorded 213 yards, which is beneath his standard.

Meanwhile, except for Phillip Lindsay who had 130 yards from scrimmage, 81 by rushing, and 49 passing, there wasn’t some notable productivity on the field of Lambeau Field. It is mostly because of the Packers’ superb defense. They forced three turnovers, which is already the second time this season.

The majority of points were set from the positions which have been a direct contribution of the defensive team, like the returned fumbles or something similar.

Jaire Alexander was very fired up following the event.

“I know that (that the Packs have the best D in the league). I know that for a fact. We are best at everything. Watch the field. ” Alexander stated.

Those forced three fumbles and six sacks aren’t the only things which made the Packs so intimidating. Throughout all four periods, Green Bay was relentless, aggressive, and keen on picking up the challenge and fight.

Aaron Rodgers has been solid. Not that great, but solid, as he played a routine game today, below his standard. The two-time MVP had 235 yards, and one TD, throwing 17 of 29.

Aaron Jones closed the situation on two occasions, despite rushing just 19 yards. Marquez Valdes Scantling had 6 receptions for 99 yards and a TD. All in all, it was an easy win for the Packs who didn’t spend too much energy on this one.

Still, Rodgers is was not pleased the way he handled the situation. He believes that there is more potential in their game.

“Still haven’t played a 60-minute game offense yet. We were clicking the entire game,” said Rogers and praised the defense. “We don’t have any excuses; we just have to be a little more consistent.”

The Packers will have to meet with the Philadelphia Eagles in the next round. It were the Detroit Lions who made a massive surprise by beating Philly at home this Friday, 27-24. Following that they have the all-American contest, in Texas against the Cowboys.

Meanwhile, the Broncos are awaiting the Jacksonville Jaguars, whose potential we still don’t know. With Gardner Minshaw, this team looks really mobile, and without respect towards any opponent. But then again, to beat Denver at home is a tough task, and nobody does that often in any sport. One week later they travel to LA to play against the Chargers.
