Fantastic Dovicioso Snatches the Win from Marquez in Austria

In a magnificent race of the MotoGP championship at the Austrian Grand Prix, Andrea Dovizioso snatched a win in front of Marc Marquez and Fabio Quartararo.

It was one epic ending in which the Italian rider on his Ducati practically stole the victory from the Spaniard. There was a fierce battle for the top spot on the podium between those two for at least 20 laps. Every inch, every small detail was important, and the tension was extremely high on the track as well as on the stands.

Marquez had a small advantage, but Dovizioso jumped over him with 9 laps to go and took over the top of the caravan. Still, with just three laps to go the reigning champion passed by the Italian after several chaotic situations in which both rivals made mistakes.

At the moment, everybody believed that the race is decided. Knowing Marquez’s finishes and his furious endings, nobody could predict what will happen in the end. Things on the track became so hot, and Dovi and Marquez had a little collision at the start of the last lap. The Italian stayed behind his opponent, until the final corner, when he performed a wild maneuver.

Dovi showed that he too is a great rider and that even Marquez can’t predict and defend from certain things.

“I feel so strong in that moment, it is something in the past, I always think about, but I did something crazy, and sometimes it works. I am so happy for all the people working so hard for Ducati,” said the winner before his walk to the podium.

The Italian manufacturer won for the fourth straight time at the Red Bull Ring and proved that this track is like a home to them. For Dovizioso, this is a very important victory, as he still hopes to endanger Marquez’s first place in the standings. Right now, the difference between these two is 58 points, which is precisely what the champ mentioned after the race.

It seems that Marquez tracks everything and that he too sees a potential danger in Dovi.

“Happy because this second place, of course, miss the last corner, but was sliding a lot the rear. Anyway, Dovi did an incredible job, at the moment we are leading by 58 points, so continue on the same way.”

Right now Marquez has 230 points, Dovizioso 172, while Danilo Petrucci has 136. There are 8 more races until the end of the championship, and things could get messy at some point. The next race is in the United Kingdom at the famous Silverstone, after that in Italy, where Ducati and Dovi have a huge crowd behind them. Following that the caravan moves to Spain to Marquez’s home court.

The series of races in Europe stop there, and the players are going to the Asian continent, which could be very tricky.
