Elliot, Prescott lead Cowboys to a win over the Eagles, 37-10

The Dallas Cowboys have crushed the Philadelphia Eagles in the last game of Sunday’s NFL program. Ezekiel Elliot and his teammates ran over the guests from Philly, beating them with 37-10. It is their first victory following a three-game losing streak and a huge boost of morale before the crucial part of the season.

The Cowboys were pretty much dominating the field in all aspects of the game, and haven’t allowed the Eagles to threaten in any way. Both the defensive and the offensive team played excellent, doing their respective jobs perfectly, and without any problems.

Ezekiel Elliot and Dak Prescott did their job perfectly. Zeke had 137 yards from the scrimmage, 111 on the ground on 22 carries. He scored one touchdown but was a constant threat to one of the best run defenses in the NFL.

“That’s how I play every week,” Elliott said. “I like to think of the defense as a shield. In the first quarter, you hit them a couple times; you dent the shield a little bit. You keep on hitting it.”

Prescott, meanwhile, had 230 passing yards, 21 for 27, and an interception and a touchdown each. He also added 30 rushing yards and one touchdown, which broke Roger Staubach’s record of 20 scores.

Meanwhile, the defense was harassing the Eagles all night long, forcing Carson Wentz to make three turnovers. Two of them were fumbles, while one was an interception. He was sacked three times and posted just 191 yards, 16 for 26. His only TD pass was towards Dallas Goedert, which was, in fact, the single for the Eagles this Sunday night.

Their defense, unlike the hosts’, was below every expectation. The second-best in stopping the ground game in the NFL allowed 189 rushing yards, which is far more than their average of 73 per contest. Head coach Doug Pedersen was not happy with the way his team played, and how they looked in Arlington.

“Quite honestly, after a game like this, we all have to kind step back and look into the mirror, especially myself, it starts with me,” he said. “It starts with me; this is one of those games that I take personal from that standpoint. I’ve got to get that fixed.”

We have to mention Dallas’ kicker Brett Maher who became the only player in the NFL history with three 60+yards field goals. The 29-year old struck from 63-yards last night in the final moments of the second period. That is a new Cowboys’ record and the second-longest field goal of all times.

“It’s pretty cool,” Maher said. “I didn’t know [it was a record] until I got in here. That’s definitely cool.”

The Cowboys have time to rest now and to recharge their batteries, due to a week off. Following that, Garrett’s guys will travel to New York to face the Giants on Monday Night Football, on Nov 4.

The Eagles will have a much tougher challenge against the Bills on the road. Buffalo has 5 wins and one defeat.

Dallas now leads the NFC East with 4-3, Philly is second 3-4, Giants third 2-5, while Washington Redskins sit at the bottom with just one victory and six defeats.
