The second case of COVID-19 in the NFL was reported yesterday. After Rams’ center Brain Allen, the Super Bowl L MVP Von Miller was tested positive for the virus also.

One of the best linebackers in the league and a Super Bowl L champion found out the news this Thursday evening. He didn’t hide anything but openly spoke with one local radio station about the current situation. Miller stated that he feels ok and that right now, he doesn’t have any particular problems.

Miller in Good Shape, Recovering in Quarantine

“I tell you what, I’m in good spirits. I’m still Von. I’m not feeling sick or hurting or anything like that.”

The 31-year old stated that he decided to test himself after his girlfriend noticed that his coughing sounded bad while he was asleep. Miller has asthma issues, and a few days ago, he experienced minor coughs. However, as time went by, it became a bit more serious, which is why he decided to visit the doctor.

Broncos’ player and the franchise itself issued a statement saying that the linebacker will stay quarantined and will be closely monitored by the team’s doctors. For now, there is no other important information about this case.

Miller is Denver’s icon, and one of the players who marked the history of this franchise. He was drafted second overall in the 2011 NFL draft by the Broncos, and ever since, the Dallas-born established himself as arguably the best OL in the league. During his stint in Colorado, Miller was elected to be an All-Pro seven times, and earned a Pro Bowl invitation on eight occasions.

He is the member of the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team.

Brian Allen Publicly Discovered His COVID-19 Infection on Wednesday

The Rams’ center was the first NFL athlete who caught the infection of the Coronavirus. The 24-year old revealed his condition this Wednesday, but it seems that he knew about the virus much earlier.

According to his words, the symptoms appeared three weeks, and they were much different than with the regular flu. Allen lost his sense of taste and smell, to the point that he couldn’t recognize what he eats.

At the time, Allen was preparing for the upcoming season in the teams’ facilities and was also recovering from his knee injury. After reporting his condition to the doctors and once the results came back positive, the Rams closed their facilities for two weeks while cleaning the entire area in the meantime.

The strong center is expected to be cleaned of the virus pretty soon, and the Rams’ coach Sean McVay confirmed that.

“I talked to him yesterday. I’m really glad to hear he’s feeling good, he’s healthy, and he’s on the road to recovery,” McVay said.

Apart from these two players, there are two more COVID-19 cases related to the NFL. The first is Sean Payton, New Orleans Saints’ head coach, and an unnamed member of the Los Angeles Chargers organization. Payton recovered in the meantime.
