Cam Newton Keeping in Shape With Odell Beckham Jr.

  • Cam Newton was caught training with Odell Beckham Jr. at the UCLA this Saturday.
  • The former MVP and the No.1 pick is still without a team.
  • According to many, there are three teams who could be his next destination.

Newton and OBJ Together In LA

One of the main news this Saturday was that the two NFL superstars trained together. It is something which almost instantly cased enormous attention among the fans, because of both Newton and Odell Beckham. They two are still among the most popular persons in the entire league, even though they didn’t have such a bright season.

Super Cam and OBJ were at the UCLA stadium where they had a session, which quickly became a viral hit.

It is quite possible that former Panther tries to divert attention towards him and that all this is just another marketing move from his side.

He is without a team since being released from Carolina, and something like this might be a way of keeping his name in the center of attention, and among the trendy topics in the NFL community.

The Panthers decided to move away from Newton this summer and released their franchise player, who guided them to one Super Bowl appearance. It was a tough but necessary move according to the management of the organization from Charlotte. They would sign Teddy Bridgewater after that, giving him a three-year $63 million contract.

As for Newton, he wasn’t released immediately following the end of the previous campaign but waited for some time, and he feels that the Panthers did that on purpose, all in order to decrease his options after the departure from North Carolina.

Three Teams in Option

Many are suggesting various possibilities for Newton’s new team, but right now, according to most of them, three franchises have better chances than all others. The first are the Jaguars, the second the Redskins, and finally the Patriots as the third.

At first, the Chargers were also included, but after taking Justin Herbert at this year’s draft, those stories were stopped. The Jags have Gardner Minshew, who is young and has everything in order to become an elite player. But still, he is not consistent, and per several big names of this sport, he is still too young to be a regular starter.

The Redskins are in a tough position, with Dwayne Haskins as the No.1 QB, and with injured Alex Smith. This is why Newton seems to be a perfect solution. His style of play would be complementary with one of the legends of this sport, Adrian Peterson, who is spending his veteran days warning the ‘Skins jersey.

And finally, but the most intriguingly, the Pats are allegedly interested in Newton. Bill Belichick is waiting for the right moment to storm in and pick up one of the most dangerous players in the last decade. Following Brady’s departure, the Pats are trying to find a solution for that position, and with Newton healthy, they would easily stay among the best teams in the AFC.
