49ers and Chiefs to meet in Super Bowl LIV

The San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs won their respective conferences and proceeded to the Super Bowl LIV. The two teams will clash on February 2, to decide the new NFL champions.

The 49ers once again defeated the Green Bay Packers, only this time the result was 37-20. It is pretty safe to say that the hosts demolished the Packs in every aspect of the game, and that Raheem Mostert played the match of his life.

The 27-year old running back had 220 rushing yards and four touchdowns, three of them in the first half, rolling over the frightened guests.

“I never gave up on my dreams,” he said following the match. “I did have a lot of doubters and naysayers. Now I get to actually tell them, ‘Look where I’m at now.'”

Jimmy Garoppolo didn’t have any job in this event, posting 77 yards with six completions in eight attempts.

On the other side, the Packers were looking like a deer in headlights, frightened, stiff, confused. This was by far the worst performance they had this season, and that especially applies to the first half once they trailed 27-0.

We saw them making ridiculous mistakes in each aspect of the game, starting with the offensive team, through punting and finally in defense. Rodgers had three fumbles and two interceptions. He did record 326 yards and two TDs but was also sacked on three occasions.

“We just weren’t very consistent the first half,” Rodgers said. “Made a couple of mistakes personally that hurt us and kind of let it get away from us.”

In the other game of the night, the Kansas City Chiefs defeated Tennessee Titans 35-24, because of Patrick Mahomes, who once again showed that there probably isn’t a better quarterback in the NFL.

In the decisive moments of the contest, late during the second period, he scored after a 27-yard run to give the Chiefs the first lead of the game. Mahomes created made a stunning individual effort outsmarting several defenders before reaching the end zone and getting the momentum on the hosts’ side.

To be here, to be a part of Chiefs Kingdom and to be able to do it here at Arrowhead, these people deserve it. And we’re not done yet,” he stated.

The still reigning MVP threw for 294 yards and three touchdowns, and also had 53 yards on the ground. Mahomes hit Tyreek Hill twice for the score, and one of the fastest guys int he leagues posted 67 receiving yards.

Sammy Watkins caught seven passes for 114 yards and a TD, while Damien Williams carried the football into the endzone once during the event,

On the other side, the astonishing Derrick Henry couldn’t do more than 69 yards and a TD. The Chiefs defense restrained arguably the best RB in the league, not allowing him to reach his swing.

Ryan Tannehill threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns, finding Anthony Firkser and Dennis Kelly.

“I feel like our backs were against the wall the whole season. But we kept on fighting and kept on believing in each other,” Henry told the journalists after the game, adding that he feels proud with his teammates and their results this season.

Up next, HardRock Stadium, February 2, Super Bowl LIV, don’t forget.
